solutions

A. buy a new jockey wheel/winder that comes with the pneumatic type of wheel already fitted

B. fit the old wheel back and track down a pneumatic wheel that does fit

thats about all i can see you being able to do. the only thing to note if replacing the whole unit make sure the hole diameter is correct as there is a few sizes.

Hi

Did you resolve this - I too have a gravel drive and am thinking about changing my existing jockey wheel for the pneumatic type. The existing wheel is 260 mm in width. Would appreciate hearing how you got on.

Yes we did eventually solve this problem, we are also on gravel, and after spending 20 on the pneumatic tyre, it was too wide, so then had to spend a further 40 odd pounds on the whole ensemble. But it is now sorted, we do find though that we have to keep ,the tyre well inflated or it burrows into the gravel.

How about this for a deal from BPW direct on ebay...

BPW ebay link

A pneumatic wheeled jockey wheel assembly with a easy to read noseweight assembly. I have on it's great! Also the spring acts as a damper which is handy if you have a motor mover.

Having read all the replies on this have now invested in a new jockey wheel with pneumatic tyre. Bought through E-Bay as suggested by jimw at fixed price of 25 plus postage for total of 33. That's 22 cheaper than the same item in Chichester Caravans shop! Very Happy Very Happy
