We were just talking about taking our new pup away for the first time, we have 2 dogs a lovely chocolate Lab called Jake and the new pup a shih tzu cross called megan and no matter what dog we have had they have always slept in the van with us, I just wondered what the other dog owners on here did regarding sleeping arrangements.

when we first had Mollie our labrador she slept in a cage in the awning, but i never slept a wink i could hear her coughing and i thought she was too cold, so i brought her in and she slept in the shower unit of the bathroom
That was great until the bonfire night when it was howing with wind there was a massive clap of thunder and she dived from the bathroom on to the bed and thats where she has slept ever since

Hi we have two black Labs (Blaze & Murphy) and they sleep in the van with us. We were lucky enough to get a reasonable second hand 5 berth and as there is only 2 of us we have removed the seating/bed at one end to make a nice big area for the dogs to sleep.

Another Lab owner I know uses an Annex on the end of his Awning for his dogs to sleep in and I must admit I am considering it. It depends where your dogs are used to sleeping I think. Mine sleep in the garage(joined to house and looks more like a bedroom than a garage) at night so I think they would be more comfortable with the temperature in an Annex.

I do like them in with me though Wink Hope that helps a bit.

Hi.

We have got a chocolate Lab and he sleeps in his cage in the awning. We tried him in the caravan but he made my daughters asthma bad.

Phil.

first dog slept on the spare bed in the van. the first time Toby came away with us was all over the van all night, no one slept, so now its his crate in the awning, nice and cosy with thick blankets over the top and round the sides. Only trouble is he is awake at the crack of dawn, complete opposite to at home!

Hi there

Our dog sleeps between us and as close to my wife's backside without getting under the bedclothes as possible. She is a 14 year old Jack Russell . Lady by name and lady by nature.

I would love to post a different sleeping place for our pooch, but alas, he grew out of the cage and now sites himself on his back under the duvet with his head on the pillow and paws over top of duvet between myself and husband.
We have tried taking his bed, blankets and mats for him, but NO! if its good enough for us, then it must ALL be for him!

I think the best posting here would be how to get dog hairs off your duvet and night clothes!

We have a huge German Shep called Holly(Iam sure she was crossed with a horse) and when we had the trailer tent she started off on her blanket in the awning, then progressed up onto our daughters bed. Now we have a new van and the wife has said she must go back out into the awning, the test will come when we go to the meet at the red lion, I will bet a pint for all who turn up that she ends up in the van with us, ah well, you have to luv em don't you( and I am not saying which one lol).

See you there

Aye aye all

this is my 2nd time using a forum so please forgive me if im not using the right proceedures.
Our old dog Dougle passed away last year. he was a small suitzsue. He used to sleep where ever he felt like. I now have a new boy Mac, a year old lab retriever cross, plan is to let him sleep in his cage in the awning as it is the same cage he sleeps in at home and its where he travels in the motor.
New van coming home next week and a new beast to tow it with.
