We have full bradcot awning with our caravan and my husband has to put it up with the help of my 11 year old, we use our caravan all through the year and we do tend to do alot of weekends. Im looking for a porch awning whichis lightweight, easy to dry when damp or wet, simple to put up quick in bad weather and quick to take down
I have been looking at a Sunncamp Scenic Plus
Can any one recommend this awning or a similar make which may be suitable

you could try the porchlite plus. relatively cheap, soooooo easy to put up and dries off easily. your husband wouldnt need any help with this one

We have a Porchlite Plus and I think it's brilliant!!

We got ours from Barrons - same place we got the cv and it was on special offer for £50

Best £50 I've ever spent, mind you saying that we're now on the hunt for a full size awning.

Thanks for that guys, the wife went and bought one from NR £120 ex demo one on offer from their website. Its a bit bigger and we can add our exisitng annex to it. Now all we need do is track a full size NR down or find one on offer on the site its not easy to find size 1050 Laughing

We have four at the last count and none of them suit us. The largest one is too big to handle, and the porch awning too small. the inbetween size ones don't fit right as our door is at the back of the van and they cover half a window, and one is too short heightwise.
No one told us about the height and to consider where your door is.
The other problem is my husband is tall and I am under 5' and no help putting it up.
We are looking for a half size awning for a 17' van (Swift Archway Barnwell) which comes out further than a standard awning, we have seen one, but didn't make a note of the name.
Any ideas.

I would advise the one that zips off the side of your van. I think its a PDQ and it stays on the side of your van at all times uless you want to use your other one then you remove it. i belive it is only one pole required to erect it and that has its own cary case.

I've just bought the outdoor revolution spacelite porch awning, didn't really want an awning, got fed up with putting up a tent but I can see the sense in a dry area to take off wet clothing and wellie boots, and of course some sun shade, heaven forbid we get some again. Hoping to use it in the next couple of weeks so hopefully I can let you know how I get on.

Hi all,
we just got a Sunncamp Scenic Plus as a porch awning, our full awning will only be used for long stays. I have not had a chance to use it yet but on our last trip out in the van in November a guy on site had one which had no problems with the wind and rain and they are a doddle to dry out.

Hi Am new to this site please can you help me I want to buy a light porch awning but looking around on the internet there are so many can you tell me which you would suggest
we often get windy weather when away are any of them strong enought to cope in the wind???
any suggestions would be so helpful

Hi Millie,
since my previous reply, we have used our Sunncamp Scenic Plus each time we have been out with the van and it has stood up to all sorts of weather, wind,rain and snow, we are well pleased with it and it is so easy and quick to put up and take down. We got our's from Towsure and it was not a bad price.

thanks for that will look at them sounds just what we want its the wind that bothers us the most have had some horrible nights out of the blue
