strange question, just ot of interest and nosiness! what do you all reckon is the average age of caravanners? im sure we get some strange looks being quite young, and driving round in a range rover with a caravan on the back! plus we never tend to see anyone around our age when were on site,
Just curious!

Fuosa

You haven't said how old you are or where you usually go. I might be old to you or around your age.

My wife is 39, I'm 38 and we have two children 6 and 4. I feel that we are in the lower age limit but have met up with several people our age on rallies in Suffolk.

I do suspect that if the CC were to list the average age of their membership then it would be nearer the 60 mark. However there are a lot of oyounger people out there, its just a case that they may like commercial sites for a 2 week holiday each year and don't do a lot else. Where we tend to do a lot of rallies throughout the year with a few CL sites in between. We very rarely see young people on CL sites.

Paul

Not far at all, our favourite is the CCC at Cannock chase and a nice one just located at Hereford (The mill Pond).
Might see you around Rolling Eyes

My wife and I are 39, we have just started caravaning this year due to our young daughter, outdoor life fresh air etc etc

I wish we would have done it when we were younger, after the initial outlay for the van it does make cheap holidays, we have been out 3 times this year so far (only local - to staffordshire), to be fair I have seen many families our age with young children, so its great that our daughter can make friends when we go away

I would suggest that our age group seems quite common on the sites that we have visited.

I am 42, other half 49 we have been caravanning for 15 years. Innitially saw it as a cheaper holiday with the children. Is it just me or are pitch prices going up!!

Its easy to get the bug, we only started just under 2 years ago. So far this year we've done about 7 rallies and we have around 60 nights planned for the whole year so far. A few more will come in with CL sites.

It is cheap as for us the rallies are only usually under 25 miles away. Average rally price around £18 for a weekend. Most rallies we don't leave site so in actual fact we probably save money when we are away compared to being at home.
