Hello, I have an Elddis Typhoon with a slightly squashed in roof panel which in very high wind occationally hits the internal wooden slats causing a kind of 'rolf harris' board flexing type noise.
It looks likely that someone leant on it too hard when trying to clean to top as there's no damage just a large smooth dip, hence why it hits against the internal wood.
My question is this: I has thinking of drilling a small hole inside one of the front cupboards and shooting a little expanding foam into the gap between inside and outside roof to stop the panel from hitting the wooden slat, is this a advisable fix or do I need to consider a more drastic approach?[B]

Hi Adam
I would not use expanding foam . how do you know how much to spray in to the ceiling void could end up pressing the internal rook downwards and not pushing up the alloy sheet To me the alloy sheet will offer more resistance and bow the timber ceiling
I would get 1or 2 or 3 single suckers that are used by glazers / car body shops these should be able to pull the bow out of the alloy roof
I think Screwfix sell them or machine Mart
As the alloy panel will have stretched then you may end up with a slight "hump" on the roof

I'm certainly no expert but I would expect that hump to go back down as soon as the caravan is in transit.
I would contact you rlocal dealer or repairer on the best way of filling it from inside that you first mentioned. May be not expanding foam but with cuttting a big enough hole in the roof from a cupboard may allow you to put in smaller pieces of proper foam sticking them in place to stop the rattling.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Yep defo sounds like an internal roof panel removal to solve it, it may be worth putting up with it unless you want to through a few ££££s at it and your DIY skills are good as i think a dealr may charge a small fortune to repair.
