Has anyone heard anything about Avondale?
The word on the street is that they have gone under. Does anyone have any more information?

Hi gwc
Avondale Property and other Avondale subsidiarys are still trading but the caravan/coach building side has ceased trading so unless you bought your caravan direct from them your dealer warrenty will still be valid. but not sure how we would go on if we needed any major parts should the worst thing happen??? but still sad news for Avondale.

Thanks for the info. I think there will still be a warranty problem if you bought a caravan from an Avondale dealer, as ultimately the dealer does the work and then is paid by Avondale so if the dealers are not going to be paid they will not do the work. After all it's Avondale giving the warranty and not the dealers!
But yes, I agree, it's a very sad day for the industry and unfortunately I sign of things to come. I have also heard that Swift are doing a 4 day week and will soon be closing every 1 week in four!
Let’s hope the media find something else to focus on and stop hyping up this so called recession!
