I am bewildered by the choice of a digital tv for my caravan. Tescos and others are selling 15" flat screen DTVs with DVD player for around £200. The caravan shops are selling similar but with also 12v for over £350. Do I need the expensive one if I only go onto sites?

The short answer is no not if you use sites all the time, that is if they have electric sockets on site.
I just use a normal TFT screen and if you do realy want to use it from 12v every now and then you could buy an 500w invertor for approx £50 which may have uses elsewhere.
