We're off to Chateau le Verdoyer, Champs Romain for 2 weeks end of July. We did this run last year without the caravan, i made a straight dash down the toll roads took about 12hrs from home to destination. This year we are taking the van and are going to use none toll roads so we require an overnight stop about an hours drive from Calais down the A16, D240, N1. Anyone got any recommendations? |

aires de servces are in plentyfull supply i stopped about 1 hr in from Calais
i will check the name of it later. probably after 9 pm ish tonight.
Edit
I just had a quick look online. A16 down near Abbeville we made the fatal mistake of stopping at "Baie de Somme" and if we had carried on 15 mins we could have stopped @ "Behen" on the A28 not quite the road that you wanted but you can turn back from here i think in the aire but if not its not far down the road to turn back. the "Baie de Somme" is a very large and noisey aire, where as the "Behen" aire was very nice and quiet on the way home.
That pear of wisdom was probably useless but never mind |

Hi Gav,
Saw your 'nickname' Bandit 12 wouldn't happen to refer to a Suzuki Bandit would it? I was gonna go for ZZR1400 as my nickname but didn't think many 'Bikers' were caravanners! If you ride a Bandit stay safe!! |

Yes i ride an old B12, would love a zzr14. I don't know if many bikers are caravanners but i think it creates a nice balance, i can curse the caravanners when i'm in the car, zip past them on the bike an be one when i'm hooked up. |

Hey Paul
Is it a Sherman tank you tow for a van..... It's Motor bikes they are talking here. My last bike probably weighed twice as much as the maximum allowable payload and oh..........
Iv'e just realised when you said in the back of the van you must of meant the van you tow your caravan with....
Phew ... I could just see this caravan with a motorbike in the back and it's nose up in the air...
