The analogue TV signal from the winter hill transmitter covering the north-west has now been switched off.
The power on most digital free-view channels has been turned up from 10kW to 100kW ie 10 times stronger.
The TV in my bedroom (on an old small aerial) now receives most free-view channels. Just tried my motor home on the status 530 aerial and this now gives good free-view reception.
One notable exception is "Film 4" which along with a few others is still only on low power for some unexplained reason.
Once other regions switch off the analogue signal they should also turn up the power on digital signals giving us all much improved reception.
I will still be using my maxview sat dish for sites not surrounded by trees though
