Hi everyone, never joined anything like this before, so its all new to me!
Been lone motorhomer since 1992 to 2004 when I sold my Compass Drifter 404 to purchase VW Autosleeper Topaz for towing my Swift Corniche caravan.
Originally went to Oz in 98 and did 28 day coach/camping tour Sydney, south, Alice Springs, Darwin, round to Cairns and back. I then went back 99 to NZ. Bought motorhome in NZ took it to Oz 00, travelled Sydney round south, Melbourne, Tasmania, Western Australia, the whole of it! Did Gold prospecting for 3 months near Kalgoolie and have one fine specimen worn as pendant!
Took van back to NZ just after 9/11 so van didn't sell quickly, long story. However next purchase was 1978 Range Rover in Perth, WA (yes they keep their cars a long time over there) and a small pop top caravan to do some more prospecting and travelling up to Darwin etc, experienced hurricans, floods anid crocodile infested, mosquito infested areas by myself. Looking back now I must have been mad but I miss that adventure!
Came back to England permanently to help look after new grandchildren, now the 3rd one about to arrive, that's too much for me and the foot loose and fancy free bug has caught me again. Hence dilemma regarding gas locker, cos when the wind blows its too much ventilation! And I need to get back out there, just UK, perhaps Spain, Morocco, etc etc. Houses and me don't mix!
Have lots of lone friends (and couples), in various "lone camper" groups and having been ill, some bug over last three days have thoroughly enjoyed reading and laughing, so I thought I'd add something!
