Well it never wanted to do this and still think this is wrong but I just can not belive all the problems that I have had with the caravan have brought me to this.
We say a lovley Compass Liberte Air (2 years old) @ Canwell caravans and struck a good deal with the very, very nice sales man Paul Holis. (he is the real deal)
Paid the £650 deposit and set a collection date of the 3rd Spetember.
Went for the van collection and the first thing we noticed was a flat jockey wheel!
Being shown around the van which had been cleaned (NOT) I noticed a light fitting missing. Then found the table was not in its storage hole.
Paul ran off to collect them. We then started looking around the van and noticed a large scratch down the kitchen work top! The looking in the top locker found my cd player and 8 autochanger were missing.
The guy who did the PDI (doubt if it went through one) said there was never one fitted. Funny the screwholes where there and the box from the new cd player placed over them.
I boss man Les said it would be investigated and the system installed from new. Table replace and scratch repaired we paid and set off. (was not totally happy with parting with 10k).
5th September.
While washing the van found a 1.5" long split in the front body shell.
8th September.
Shake down Cannocl chase.
Found water dripped from around the wheel arch offside. Upon investigation found the cold water pipe in the bathroom leaking and had been for some 16 hours soaking the floor.
Again where was the PDI.
9th September.
Canwell taken the caravan back, to fix the faults which should of been done before we bought the caravan.
14th September.
Canwell tell me the caravan is ready and waiting for collection.
They are not prepared to compensate use in any way They are saying all the work they have done is more than compensation.

What do you all think?

To us it stinks, we love the caravan and as such are taking it well away from Canwell.
You all have been warned !!!!!

Hmmm

Sounds like the typical fob off by a dealer.

PDI is done by a minimum wage guy who does not give a $h1#

I think they should show you the van with it all working before you part with your money and i sugest on the next ocassion you ask for that to happen.

Vote with your feet and dont go back there, the problem that you have is the delaer has fixed it but it did cause an inconvenience to you so you should in theory be given a sweenter so to speak. The problem is that the dealers cant afford to do this and with the increasing number of cockups they make its no wonder.

What is the answer? well i found a small local dealer, he showed me all the appliances working and made sure i was happy. They even noticed a light broken on the PDI and sent their engineer out to fix to save tha van having to come in. They can do that with most faults so they say.

Spot on there, I complained in writting and they are complied in fixing it so they have complied to the letter of the law.
Its just the hastle they have put us through.
Once we get the van back we ain't never going back there again.
The sales guy was a dream and has fought nail and tooth for us all the way down the line. Phoning me at home on his days off.
I real nice guy supported by D1(K H3AD5.

Just going to put it all behind us, leaves a bad taste though Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad
