Give us the formula with the data and I will check it for you.
Mine stated by the manufacture is 61psi, but the dealer said 51 was the correct calculated. So who do you believe? |

hi ian , will have to go looking for the formulae again, im sure rob has posted it somewhere ,
my vital stats are
tyre max weight 670kg each.
tyre max pressure 65psi each
van miro 944
van maximum mass1170kg
im sure i calculated on the van being fully laden to 1170kg to get the maximum pressure i would ever require .
rob posted this in top tips.-
Basic rule of thum is
Required tyre pressure is the Actual weight. of 'van multiplied by Max Tyre pressure as marked on side-wall), divided by the Max. Tyre Load (stated on side-wall) times the number of tyres/wheels.
eg. Weight of 'van = 1400 Kg.
Max.Tyre Pressure = 66 psi
Max Tyre Load = 775 Kg.
No. Of tyres/wheels = 2 (single axle - 4 if double axle obviously)
(1400 X 66) divided by (775 X 2)
= 60 psi.
mine is 1170x65= 76050
divided by 670x2= 1340
=56.75.
hows that ? |
