I would put a primer on first. And if you can borrow an air compressor it may make the job even easier, especialy if the owner of the air compressor has done it before  |

There are some very good paints to roller on,go to an auto paint supplier (i use southwest autopaints )tell them what you want to do pick your colour and your away.I used to spray my banger rods with a 1 pack polyurathane in an open garage or outside with a small compressor and the slow drying time gave a very good finish and the same paint with a roller gave almost the same results.Be sure to use a primer that stops any reaction between the 2 paints

. I thought the roof looked grubby, that's the reason for a good hose down but it turns out to be the paintwork that's all patchy due to the cleaner used.
