Having recently bought my first 'van that's in need of a bit of TLC, I gave it a good wash only to find that the water running off was a milky colour. It turns out that the previous owner had been cleaning the outside of it with Cif (the old Jif) or some other abrasive cleaner of the same type Rolling Eyes . I thought the roof looked grubby, that's the reason for a good hose down but it turns out to be the paintwork that's all patchy due to the cleaner used.
I have no garage or spraying equipment and simply haven't got the money for a full respray, so may I ask if there is a paint that I can use with a paint roller or brush that leaves little to no marks when dry? or will any good exterior paint do the job?

Many thanks for any replies Very Happy

I would put a primer on first. And if you can borrow an air compressor it may make the job even easier, especialy if the owner of the air compressor has done it before Smile

There are some very good paints to roller on,go to an auto paint supplier (i use southwest autopaints )tell them what you want to do pick your colour and your away.I used to spray my banger rods with a 1 pack polyurathane in an open garage or outside with a small compressor and the slow drying time gave a very good finish and the same paint with a roller gave almost the same results.Be sure to use a primer that stops any reaction between the 2 paints
