We bought our first new Caravan from Perthshire Caravans last September, namely a Burstner Belcanto 455TS which we love and have found it to be a fantastic caravan. At the time of purchases we asked all the relevant questions and were advised that although this was a German Caravan they were dealers and stockists so service and spares would not be an issue.
As with all new cars/caravans etc there are always a few teething problems which were sorted out within a few weeks, however when we visited the showroom recently we were told that they have stopped selling Burstner caravans, the reason......wait for it...................... ' they are too heavy for British Cars' I think the lady that emparted this gem must have thought that we had our brains removed prior to our visit to the showroom!!!
I am disapointed that we have been misled by the salesman and other staff at Perthshire and when it comes time to replace our van I don't think we will be going back to this dealer. Crying or Very sad

How much does your van weigh?

Where is your next dealer?

[..But they do have the best accessory shop in the area.]

I beleive they do have a great accessory shop, I have also been told that this an independant operator within the premises, but it still does not excuse poor customer service.

My Burstner weighs 1360kgs according to the info plate on the van, not sure where the nearest Burstner dealer is but there are a number of other dealers in the area, can anyone recommend one?

Laughing Incidentally still trying to work out what car qualifies as a 'British Car' ........would that be a Honda!!!???? As they are manufactured in the UK as well as some Peugots...... would MG's then be classed as Chinese with the recent re-launch of this Marque?? and the investment of capital from China!!!! Twisted Evil

Personaly I would not touch them with a barge pole they are expensive and
dont give good trade in prices, Grants Dundee, Dee Valley Aberdeen, are better bets. almost forgot Sandy at Top road tourers Carnoustie is a good bloke to deal with.

Hi it looks like your up the creek! for warranty work I would get a solicitors letter demanding they carried out the work up till the end of your warranty
after that you should chum up your local caravan dealer to do servicing work
I did a bit of research today and Burstner still lists perthshire cv as a dealer
for them next nearest Barrons Carlisle, then ditto Darlington sorry cant be of
more assistance I would contact your local citizens advice for help they are good and help is free!lol
