Good
Morning All,
Looking for some help - we're new to caravanning and forums for that matter.
We bought a used Abbey GTS 212 last year - just me and hubby and are now looking for an awning. Size required is 821cms - any thoughts on which make we should go for - seems to be a HUGE variation in price !

Thanks for any help

Hi bennysmum

First may we welcome you to C/F Very Happy

As you know there are a lot of makes of awnings myself i picked a Dorema
not only because it suited my caravan but its so easy to put up. But at the end of the day its up to you, have a a look around and see which one meets your needs but remember you get what you pay for
Hopes this helps you a little

Happy camping
All the best

Thank you for your welcome and reply

I contacted a seller from the online trader caravan club site about his used awning but unfortunately it had been on there for 5 years and not sold so he binned it last year - maybe not a great bargain anyway !!

Have had a look at NR pullman as kind of middle of the range on price and pretty good for the sizing but can't see them advertised anywhere but their own website. Do you know if thats the only way to buy them.
We live north of Inverness so not alot of options for visiting dealers to compare. Didn't know if we should make the trek to Glasgow for the Caravanning show ! - however 4+ hours each way makes it a long day.

Thanks again for your help

Hi Bennysmum, living where you do your best option is probably mail order/internet I know that many of them charge extra delivery for up here
(bloody cheek) have a look on ebay or try www.caravanstuff4u.co.uk the boss Lee will do all he can to help, the other solution may be to visit a dealer in the Aberdeen area try Ian at Dee Valley Caravans tel 01330 811351 or Sandy at Top Road tourers Carnoustie (near Dundee) tel 01382
533599 Sandy specilises in new and S/H awnings he should be able to help Smile

I can vouch for NR awnings they are spot on!!! I had a pullman on our Abbey i now have a NR porch on our Buccaneer and i am very happy. their customer service is spot on!!!!!

If and when i buy a new full size awning it will be a NR if you do buy new get one of the poles that allows you to hang the awning open in the summer with the door half open its well worth it!!! I also got the bag last time if all goes in nicely

Hi,
as well as caravanstuff4u, try towsure, although we got a full size awning with the van, I have purchased a sunncamp scenic plus from towsure which is a lightweight porch awning. Towsure are very good, competative prices and quick delivery as well.

We have purchased for winter use a Quattro Porch... see the listing in the below email address.

http://www.bowenawnings.co.uk/awnings/bargain-corner.html

This is the bargain basement one we got. Yes! it does have slight marks as advertised, these are two very faded 12 inch by 2 inch strips of very pale blue on the roof, this is were they used a ribbon to bundle the awning together to get it into the box.
Everything comes with the porch, they are all brand new and come with guarantee's etc but are sold as seconds.

For full details have a look in the awnings listings!! They fit boat roof caravans as well as low sided and also normal tall caravans.

Hi there and as a newbie to the forum myself welcome

I purchased my awning from www.nicoll-industries.co.uk, I received outstanding service and delivery within 48 hours. the price was the cheapest I have seen in a long time. We have an Abbey Spectrum 418, which is not a small beast.

As the warden of a touring park, presentation is quite important, suffice to say I am impressed with the look of the awning too.

It has stood up to a severe beating with the recent weather, since November we have lost two trees to the winds.

I hope this is of help to you
