Before I go any further, welcome to the world of caravans...
Oh dear!!, oh dear oh dear!! oh dear oh dear oh dear!! Awnings are the cause of more arguments on site than when the other half has forgotten to pack the beer on a hot day!!
Seriously, after a few pitchings and erections you will find caravanning a doddle!
I have caravaned for over 25 years and love every moment of it! especially watching people put their awnings up!
Have fun!

Hi Prop,
and welcome, we too upgraded from a TT after an altercation between one of the folding roof bars and my nose, my nose came second!! and I must say it's the best thing we did.
Enjoy.
All the best

The first time we used are first caravan in 1983 off we went on our summer holiday, kids in tow, got to the site started to put the awning up and realised we had threaded it inside out, next thing hubby lying on the floor like a beetle haveing a paddy!! A lady came from the caravan next door asking was everything ok, could see hubby on the floor waving his arms and legs in the air and thought he was having some kind of fit!! assured all was well and started again! It was the talk of the site for the first week.
must say though that i think due to age! his sense of humour is not so good now when something goes wrong, the kids are now 21 and 24, if they are coming with us they travell on there own after everthing is set up. Definately not daft as they also know its a cheap holiday! It's also nice that they still like to come. |
