Hi,
I'M a new member and have just returned to caravanning after years away.
I have a Compass Rallye 482 which appears to have a relevant tow weight of about 1350 kg.
My current much loved car is a VW Bora with the 1.9 TDi 130 BHP engine. Bags of power and outstanding economy but does anyone know how well it might tow. I understand the Passat is a reasonable tug but will the shorter wheelbase of the Bora rule it out.
Any advice appreciated |

Hi Salopian.
I used to tow an Elides Vogue (1200kegs gross) with a VI Bore 1.9 Did 130 BOP, no problems as long as you load correctly. I used to average 32 mpg towing.

Caernarvon mate - a couple of nights on a farm site, and we intend to head up your way on Sunday to the Victorian weekend at LLandudno.
Got to be back on Tuesday as my better half has to go back to work - I HAVE A TOW BAR TO PAY FOR AMONGST OTHER THINGS!
All the best, |
