hi all i am after a bit of advice, having used our abi globetrotter twice this year in snow rain hail winds and every other element that the skys can through at us. we have just bought a new caravan a baily pagent. just got back today, after a long weekend away. i am after a hitch lock as the caravan is in storage so need one thats easy to put on and off, has the site owner could be doing upto 30 vans on a weekend so need some advice on a universal type lock thats cheap and quick any help would be great thanks taff.

Are you saying that you need one where the site owner can emove the lock himself rather than you?

yes paul we just phone up and give the date we going to arrive, and the van is put on a pitch ready. and the same when you leave just put every thing buy fit the lock and he will remove it when putting it back in storage

Could you not use a standard Alko hitchlock where you leave a key with the storage yard? Mine takes about 5 seconds to put on and take off.

just had one today paul a alko safety universal dude, looks pretty strong so hopefully will do the job.

At the end of the day the hitch lock will only hinder a thief. I think that I would also make sure at the least that a secure wheel clamp was also put on. These will also only hinder a thief.

Depending on how much value you put on your Caravan governs on how much you can justify to spend on security.

It is easy to spend 4 figures which most can either not afford or justify.
