Hi jimw,
was thinking of one myself, but so far the reports I have read have made it seem as if it was not worth the initial outlay so I will await your results with eagerness.

I have had and used one, not much good for anything other than keeping the battery charged when its NOT in use. If you are using the battery it will not make much use.

You also need to make sure the battery is charged prior to putting it into storage as it will only maintain the charge not actually charge it all the way up so i was told.

Hi there folks,

May I refer you to the solar panel guide published on the site. This should explain the size solar panel you require to fit your needs and the need to fit a battery master, so that you don't cook your battery once the battery is fully charged. I have had a solar panel for three years, and I have to say, they are a godsend in some environments.

I have one of Maplins 100mw chargers, haven't used it for some time now but did have it hooked up to the Caravan everytime it wasn;t in use. Certainly didn;t see the battery discharge, especially over the winter months when we didn't use the Caravan for about 10 weeks.

Worth £20 and Maplins sometimes haev these on offer for £10.

Paul
