The choice of BBQ is a personal one on what you exactly want. I like the hot plate ones as I have recently seen these. However I do have concerns about the time on setting up and putting away and storage size.
Last year I opted for a cheap £15 gas one. Its roughly 18" x 9" in size with a couple of swinging metal legs. You should see these in most dealers but the link below shows what mine is like. I do store mine in a plastic storage box whilst on the move and then it can easily be put in the shower or awning depending on what you want to do. I'm trying to keep as much out of the front locker as possible.

As for the coupling on the outside of your Caravan a connector will be required which I would expect ay dealer to hold. Not sure of the actual price but would expect this to be below £10.
Just take a look at all the options before you decide, see how much setting up is required and how they can be stored.

I like my Webber Baby Q on its stand but that is personal preference, its reasonably heavy and is quite big. I use it at home and while away in the van. The problem with it is the grill requires a grubtub (medium) to be cleaned, not a problem for us as we have a big caravan but i guess it would be for most, we carry the grubtub anyway so that is not an extra just for the BBQ.
The round type you mention is a CADAC they are supposed to be very good (i bought one for the outlaws for Christmas but they are yet to use it ) so i cannot say how good they are but i do know there are many extra bits for cooking that you can buy. |

Hi
I would also endorse the CADAC Gas BBQ. I have had one for 3 yrs now and I must say it is perfect. Its not the cheapest but it is well made and cooks great. The cooking plate is double sided. One side is ribbed for normal bbq food and the other side is smooth for cooking eggs etc.
Hope this helps

Hi Paul
It all folds down into its own waterproof zipped bag, size approx slightly bigger than the bbq plate.

I don't doubt about the taste. I just remember the hoo ha that many people created when the gas BBQ arrived "Not the same as Charcoal!".
Still I love a good burger, especially from a burger van so these would cook in almost the same way.
That was the only reason I asked, I may have opened a can of worms now.
