Good afternoon

We bought a Bailey Pageant Vendee and are super pleased with it. A couple of teething problems (operator error, not caravan error I hasten to add) and we are loving it.

Next week we plan to put the awning up for the first time. We have the instructions and tempers that do not fray too quickly, so all should be well. Reason for the thread, the caravan has been stood for a fair few months before we purchased it. Would it be worth running something through the awning rail to "glide" the awning through the first time? If so, does anyone have any suggestions?

Regards

Hi,
if you go to any caravan dealers or online shop such as outdoor bits or towsure, they sell the small brushes and lubricant as a kit for cleaning the awning rails. We got ours from towsure but I am sure Dave will have some in outdoor bits.

hi and welcome to the forum.
i have used a thin bottle brush and bent it so i can scub it through the rail.
then spray the rail with furniture polish.
spray the awning runner as well but try to keep it off the canvas.
it worked for me on a full size awning on a long twin axle. good luck.
