We use a local broker called B Portwood & Company and have never had any complaints. I am sure they do quotations online aswell as in our local area. Hope this helps Smile

Got ours through the camping and carvaning club. (need to be a member) 175. I've no experience of towing, never owned a van before a complete newbie. I didn't shop around as that seemed very reasonable.

Most things cost more than last year but I can advise that my insurance premium has dropped by 8% for exactly the same terms from the same Insurer which is an unexpected result.
I also found that the Camping and Caravan Club was the most uncompetitive by a huge margin , followed by ImmediateQuote and then the Caravan Club so it looks like I I will be staying with Lifesure Group although I may receive more offers yet.
I 'm sharing this information in the hope that it may help somebody. We need to be canny in the difficult times. As a matter of interest I found Lifesure , not on the internet but at the Caravan and Boat exhibition at the NEC in february 2010.

i'm a first time tugger too, and i went with the aa 150 seemed reasonable.
on their website it says they are cheaper than the caravan clubs.

the actual insurance is with bakers of cheltenham.

i've been with them when we had static caravans and fast service when making a claim. Razz

I have used the caravan club as my insurer for a number of years and they proved their worth when our van was stolen. No problems, no delay in paying out close on 20k. After reading in forums, the problems in gaining settlement, the C.C are there when you need them....

Blatant self promotion here but you could always try caravan insurance at cruckley.co.uk

I think it depends on what you want - insurances are so diverse. But I guess there is a good comparative site online which helps find the right one for your purposes

I used to use the NFU until one year they added 100 in the middle of the year. I rang them and asked why. They said their computer had crashed and when it was back up and running my no claims had been lost. I said if I had not noticed it the payment would have been taken, they tried to deny it. I only had 2 months left to run then changed to the Caravan Club, the service is 300% better. I know it is a bit more expensive but I feel it is well worth it.
Luckily I have never needed to make a claim.

I was with Caravan Guard, second year the premiums went up to 150. shopped around and went with the Caravan Club, identical terms, 118!!! Very Happy

Although we are members of the CC, that difference would pay for a membership for a year Exclamation
